Bob was an inspiration to us all that you can be active later in life doing the same things that make you smile when you were a younger man. We will miss his spirit of life.

This is sad news and all of us who raced with and against Bob will remember him fondly. He always was one I sought out to talk to in the paddock and chat about our race group and Allards in general, and on track he could always be trusted to do the right thing and give you a good race. All of us at Vintage Motorsport magazine send out our sincere condolences to Bob's friends and family.

Bob Lytle's name is synonimous with Allard racing on the West Coast. Although I never met him in person he did send a video message via Steve Schuler after I visited Watkins Glen in 98', telling me how much better it is on the West Coast whlist sat in a deck chair in the sun next to his J2X.
